The Low Energy Ion Beam Facility at TU Wien

EU Network LEIF It is the aim of this EU network (HPRI-CT-1999-40012) to coordinate the activities and organisation of 8 low energy ion beam facilities located in 7 different European countries and to improve the ease of accessibility and the quality of services offered to external user research groups. Our group at TU Wien houses one of these LEIF facilities and is also responsible for managing LEIF project 3 on remote participation and online access. We currently operate two Electron Cyclotron Resonance (ECR) ion sources (see details below). Together with our network partner at JLU Gießen we currently design a new all-permanent magnet 14.5 GHz ion sources (SOPHIE).
